In a bowl combine beef, garlic, hot sauce, salt & pepper and mix. Form into 8 evenly sized patties.
Saute onions and bacon. Place onions, bacon and cheese in a bowl and mix. Form a spoonful of bacon/cheese mixture and place in the center of 4 of the beef patties. Top each with another patty and seal the edges by pinching the meat closed.
Heat grill or grill pan to medium high. Cook burgers over medium-high heat, flipping once until desired doneness (about 4 minutes per side). Serve with desired toppings.
Notes
*Serving sizes on the recipes are not necessarily "bariatric sized" portions but are "traditional" portion sizes.**Fat in this recipe is higher than my typical recommendation. This recipe is best on a more occasional basis. If sensitive to fat, use leaner ground beef (ex: 97%) if available, stay minimal with cheese and turkey bacon.
